As India and Greece have enjoyed cultural, political, economic, and scientific contacts since the time of Bronze age, the Conference aims at providing this centuries old relationship with a fresh impetus by bringing experts and entrepreneurs across a variety of fields from both countries in contact and in dialogue. This exchange becomes even more imperative as current geopolitical and economic shifts on a global scale and the emergence of a multi-polar world render the international environment less stable and less predictable. The perennial relationship between Hellenism and India is a fixed point for orientation and reference and the multi-disciplinary conference is a step towards further enhancing the current cooperation between India, Greece and the European Union (EU).
While different in size and numbers, with India possessing the status of a civilizational state, both countries enjoy worldwide recognition thanks to their histories and civilizations. It is intended that this soft power effect may be increased manifold by engaging experts and entrepreneurs from both sides, in the above- mentioned areas of focus, with the aim of increasing cultural and economic exchanges between India and the EU.
The aim is to evaluate not only past and current areas of interchanges but especially to map new ones for the near and long-term future. The academic discussion of ideas may further explore challenges and possibilities in the areas of study and activities of the conference, while entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to establish contacts for promoting current or establishing new cooperation and commercial transactions.
